Description
Eastern Red Cedar Tree is a Sensitive Tree to Try and Grow
Eastern Red Cedar is a gorgeous evergreen tree that grows in a beautiful conical shape. They are slow growers and grow at a rate of up to 1 foot per year. They will do well in most soil conditions but prefer fertile, moist soil with good drainage.
Eastern Red Cedar Tree is Known for its Beauty and its Strength
It must be well taken care of and kept after planting it to take off and become a valuable tree in the first couple of years. It has dark green needles during the spring and summer months. Then as autumn approaches, the needles slowly begin to change and come the winter months, the needles have a reddish tint.
The cedar tree has a distinct smell; sometimes, people will go out and take a few clippings off the tree to put in their homes during the holidays. Cedar is also known for making furniture. Cedar chests and picnic tables are popular buys.
The red cedar had pine cone seeds, and each cone had 10-15 seeds. The red cedar also has scale-like leaves, making the tree easy to pick out when other trees are around. Eastern Red Cedar Tree bark becomes easy to tear off as the tree matures.
