Button Bush is a pretty shrub with glossy foliage and one inch

It’s related to the coffee bush and is also called the button willow or honeybells. It has oval leaves that grow opposite on the stem or in whorls. Butterflies adore the nectar found in the button bush’s flowers, and it's a mainstay in butterfly gardens. Deer are also fond of the leaves and bees make honey out of the nectar.

Button Bush has round clusters of cream-colored flowers that ripen into achenes

When the achenes, or seeds, arrive, they are avidly eaten by birds. Buttonbush is found from Quebec and down to central Mexico. There are some populations of the shrub in California and Arizona. It’s an under-story plant that prefers to grow beneath taller trees.

Button Bush is an excellent ornamental shrub

They will look like white buttons. They are magnificent and marvelous to watch it. It will grow to be around 10 to 12 feet high. It is also an excellent decorative shrub to use in your flower gardens or natural areas. Sometimes the blooms will also have a fragrance to them.
