The Sandbar Willow Live Stakes are primarily found in New England, but can also be found in North America.

It is an uncomplicated woody shrub that emerges from the ground with several stems and long branches that form a rounded crown top. The leaves of the Sandbar Willow are beautiful with vibrant colors of yellow and green. When young, the sides of the leaves have an enchanting silver hue giving it a lustrous look. In the spring, The Sandbar Willow is also adorned with small yellow and white flowers that range from 1 to 2 ½ inches. This specific shrub has an extremely fast growth rate of 3 to 4 feet per year with a mature height of 20 to 25 feet in a 20-year span. The leaves reach a length of 5 inches long and 1cm in width. The Sandbar Willow tolerates a variety of soils, though it thrives where moisture is abundant.

They are commonly used in a variety of gardens and placed around ponds and bogs.

This plant does very well in flooded areas but does not do well in drought conditions. The wetland plant is considered a medium shrub. This tree requires little work to keep it looking good. This tree can often be found growing in the wetlands or areas that have well sandy soil.
