Golden Fern makes a beautiful hanging plant

They do well in hanging pots with holes or ceramic decorative pots with holes. This is easy to care for plant that anyone can handle.

Golden Fern has bronze looking foliage

Golden Fern is a low growing full selection of Hinoki cypress with arching sprays of mixed young and adult foliage that taper to points like the fronds of ferns that it closely resembles. If it is in the right environment, the more young leaf can be a creamy-white to gold color while the adult foliage can be light green with bronze-yellow tips. Golden Fern thrives with moderate sun and partial shade. Too much humidity, cold and dry air is not suitable for this plant. When winter arrives, it is good to bring the plant inside if possible. The plant should often be watered. The soil should be evenly moist to the touch not soaking wet.

Golden Fern can be grown outside or inside the home with the correct care

This plant can be pruned by cutting back any brown dried out fronds come from a lack of light and moist soil. The roots of a Golden Fern are tender and delicate that adapt to light forest soil which is rich in leaf mold and decayed vegetable matter. After about ten years of growth a mature Golden Fern can measure 2 feet tall and 4 feet wide. That is an annual growth rate of 2 to 3 inches. If your Golden Fern is potted, it is essential to keep an eye out for its growth. This way you will know when it is time to re-pot the plant. When you are re-potting the plant, you can split the plant with roots and all to have two plants. Make sure that your new pots have holes or use a sand mix at the bottom so the roots can thrive and the water can drain.
