This was a very good packaging system they have, I feel like everything is just how it needs to be. They fix it just right for the plant, and easy for us to open.

Shipping Information

We dig plants when your order is received, and ship immediately via US Priority Mail. You will receive a tracking number via email when plants are shipped. All plants are packed to be safe in their packages for up to 3 days after receipt.

How We Protect Your Plants For Transit

We sell only bare root plants. We dip the roots in tera-sorb silicone gel to retain ample moisture for transit and surround with plastic. This provides superior protection for plants in transit for up to 12 days.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants

Open your plants and inspect the same day received. We offer 3 days to report any problems with your order. Bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days of receipt unless weather prohibits. Store in a cool place and keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted. Water daily for the first week after planting.

Scarlet Red Maple Tree is a Very Fast Growing tree

It is drought-resistant, fast-growing, and requires little care. It is also resistant to most diseases and pests. In spring and summer, the foliage is a beautiful green, and it is ideal for shade. In the colder months, the leaves will turn a brilliant, dark reddish color that will stand out. It produces a seed that squirrels and birds seem to enjoy.

Scarlet Red Maple Tree Makes for an Ornamental Tree or Shrub

A mature Scarlet Red Maple Tree, commonly found in zones 3-9, grows to a height of 30-50 feet, a spread of 25-35 feet, and is located in soil conditions ranging from arid to moist, but not alkaline. While this maple is one of the most widespread deciduous trees in America, an autumn walk, especially in New England, is going to reveal an encounter with a sea of colors - the Scarlet Red Maple undoubtedly being among them. This tree is known as much for its scarlet display as for its softer, deeper reds. All parts of this peacock show off varying hues of red, except for the trunk, a light gray that darkens with maturity.

Scarlet Red Maple Tree makes a lovely shade tree.

However, it should be noted that the roots can grow far, deep, and wide, so you should avoid proximity to sidewalks and driveways. Power lines may also create a conflict with the height of the tree. That being said, in the wild, it is often found accenting the curves of a country road. Since it tends to mesh well into the landscape, surrounding it with trees of varying densities tends to harmonize the look and feel of the arrangement.

Scarlet Red Maple Tree grows at a medium rate; Scarlet Red will usually live to 90 but may see the age of 150, which by most standards is considered a short to medium-lived age for a tree. It has a high canopy that usually begins at or above 6 feet from the ground when mature. The leaves distinguish themselves from other varieties of this maple as they are typically 5-10cm long and complete with a serrated margin, and are toxic to horses. The seeds are abundant, colloquially known as “helicopter seeds” because of the way they flutter to the ground. They ripen between April and the beginning of June, even before the leaf has reached maturity. While the Scarlet Red Maple is somewhat adaptable to environmental pollution, it will thrive in the country and tolerate an urban landscape.
