The Water Willow is one that can be taken care of and maintained with some effort.

This tree is a host of many different aphid species which feed on the plants’ juices. Therefore it will have fungi that may damage it. The tree is best grown outside since it will give you more space. However, you will need to take good care of it since it can host fungi. This tree does best in hardy zones 3 through 6. Water willow trees are often grown in grass fields where there is plenty of soil. Therefore this is the best place to grow the tree. The tree can grow up to about 20 feet tall and has green leaves.

The Water Willow is a native perennial found throughout the eastern United States and Canada.

Water willows can survive in the 4-9 hardiness zones. They grow in clusters along the shorelines of ponds and rivers and have become famous for shoreline stabilization and as a decoration for backyard ponds. Their long leaves resemble those of willow trees. Their white flowers have five petals with violet or pink streaks running down the middle, and they bloom from May to October. The tallest water willows can reach around three feet tall and grow best in muddy, damp conditions close to the water.
