Blazing Star Plants Also known as Liatris

Blazing Star Plants, or Liatris, are hardy perennials native to the Eastern North American prairies. They thrive in USDA zones 3 through 9 and can adapt to nearly any well-draining soil, making them perfect for gardens, flower beds, or containers.

Appearance and Growth

This perennial can reach heights of 24 to 48 inches, with grass-like leaves along the stalk and bold, spiky purple or pink bottlebrush flowers at the top. Some varieties may produce white blooms. The lower portion of the plant features green foliage that turns bronze in autumn, providing seasonal color even after flowering.
