Dandelion plants means "Lion's Tooth." Every single flower on the head is called a floret. The leaves are typically five to 25 centimeters long and form a basal rosette above a taproot.

Their flowers are yellow to yellowish-orange, open during the day and closed at night. Stems and leaves produce white and milky latex when they are broken. Flower heads consist entirely of ray florets and are two to five centimeters long. Many children love to blow on mature flower heads and make a "wish." The fully matured flower heads turn into rounded seed heads, commonly called "blowballs."

The Dandelion Plants Are Over 30 Million Years Old

The Dandelion is believed to be the first one about 30 million years ago in Eurasia. It is speculated that they were introduced to North America via the Mayflower. They are referred to as Lion's Teeth due to their course-toothed leaves but go by many other names.

The Plant is a Maintenance Perennial Seen Across the U.S.

It is a bright yellow flower that can grow anywhere. It is pretty and needs no maintenance while outside. This puff-shaped flower can brighten up any yard or garden.

This perennial opens most during daylight, and the male and female reproductive parts are contained in the bud. After bees and other insects pollinate the flower, it produces an achene seed. These achene seeds are pushed up through the flower, developing a pappus. The pappus gives the appearance of a cotton ball. When the wind blows past the flower, the seed is launched through the air and starts a new bulb when it lands.

It Adds sunny Color To Your Yard

This perennial can be seen and found growing all over the United States. They show up on all lawns during the spring and summer months. They will have a beautiful yellow flower when in bloom. These perennials are very easy to grow and take care of. They will be low maintenance to get them to succeed. The bloom will usually last for about nine days once it has bloomed.

The wind can spread the seeds far. They are perennial plants and will show each year. Even when you prune them, they will grow new leaves. This plant is a favorite, yet it was found to be a nuisance at the same time.

These Perennials Are Low-Maintenance

Dandelion Plants will not care to get these flowers to grow. They will increase when soils are wet and moist and even in areas where the soils are dry. They are low maintenance. They will add natural beauty to all gardens and natural regions.

These flowers can be seen growing wild in fields and pastures. Most people know this perennial for color. Why put flowers with no shade when one can have a Dandelion Plant
